Drink up at Golden Tea Time

Golden Tea Time sits just to the northeast of downtown Golden on Washington Avenue in a quaint white cottage. The front of the house is enclosed by a small porch, within which is a small window that offers a peek inside at the dainty tea rooms.

Entering Golden Tea Time is akin to stepping inside a time portal. The dining rooms feel a little like a Victorian grandmother’s home in all of its glory. The walls are covered with posters and pictures of past patrons and open cupboards display teacups of all shapes and sizes, some of which can be purchased. Wooden chairs and tables are dressed with seasonal décor, such as ceramic turkey centerpieces this time of year, china teacups, and a doily to make the table setting complete.

The lovely ladies who run the shop are very friendly, and ensure that every customer has a pleasant experience. Golden Tea Time serves two options for their menu. The first is lunch, and the choices range from soup and salad to chili relleno puffs. The second option is high tea, and includes a pot of tea along with finger sandwiches and delicious desserts that include daily cakes and chocolate raspberry brownies.

Golden Tea Time is quite an experience, and if in search of something unique, is a perfect option for mother-daughter dates. Fun conversation cannot be avoided in a place with an atmosphere and company like this.
