Why are you running for this position?

I am currently the President of the CSM Club Tennis Team, Director of Recruitment for the CSM Panhellenic Council (Sororities), and At-Large Faculty Representative for ASCSM. Previously, I have held the positions of Freshman Class Representative for ASCSM, and Director of Campus Relations for Alpha Phi.

I have been on ASCSM for the past two years, so I have the Student Government experience to handle this position. I am involved in various different clubs and organizations, such as Greek Life, Professional Societies, Club and IM Sports to name a few, which allows me to interact with every type of student on campus. I’m also one of the few girls on campus, so that’s pretty cool.

I would like to see ASCSM do more things for the students, like allow them to voice their opinion and actually have something be done about it, especially in individual departments.

In my first two years with ASCSM I was a class representative. By the end of my second term I knew that student government was something I was passionate about and I decided to run for Student Body Vice President to increase my involvement. During this past year I have gotten to be the Chair of the Parking Advisory Committee and the Student Liaison for public safety.

Because of this, I have been able to create friendships with many different types of students who are involved in multiple groups and organizations on campus. What would you like to see ASCSM accomplish in the upcoming year?
In the upcoming year I want to increase ASCSM members’ involvement on campus and campus awareness. As representatives we could really improve our communication with students and strive to cater to their needs.
