While it is not the most traditional way to prepare macaroni and cheese, baking the gooey, cheesy dish into cupcakes makes the perfect snack for any occasion.
Ingredients:
*One package uncooked elbow macaroni
*One tablespoon butter
*One egg
*One cup milk
*One package of thick-cut bacon
*One and 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
*One and 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
*Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Begin by preheating the oven to 350 degrees. While the oven heats up, cook the macaroni for eight minutes or until slightly firm. Next, grease a muffin tin with nonstick cooking spray. Now, to prepare the bacon cook it to a desired crispiness and then cut it into small pieces. Place the bacon off to the side, then mix the macaroni in a pot with the butter and an egg. Add one cup of cheddar cheese, then all of the mozzarella, milk, and bacon. Stir until evenly mixed and then spoon the mixture into the muffin tin. Sprinkle additional cheddar cheese on top of the cupcakes and bake for thirty minutes. Before removing the pan from the oven, turn off the oven. Pull out the muffin tin and let set for five minutes. After cooling, extract the macaroni and cheese cupcakes and enjoy a bite of cheesy goodness.
