Off the Shelf: Angels and Visitations

Enter the mind of best-selling author Neil Gaiman with his collected anthology “Angels and Visitations”. Literary brilliance is exemplified in each one of these tales. Coupled with several illustrations by Dave McKean, “Angels and Visitations” is an experience like none other. Each short story or poem reflects upon Gaiman’s perspective of some moral or social value.

Minds at Mines: Favorite class this semester

With only one full week of class remaining before Thanksgiving Break and only one week of class after the break, students are quite familiar with their classes to the point of wanting to be rid of them. The wave of registration last week was a reminder that a clean slate is on its way on a couple months. But while classes are certainly a large part of stress, students still have that class that keeps them interested each semester. This week The Oredigger asked, “What is your favorite class this semester?”

Women’s Soccer Remains Unbeaten, Advances to RMAC Tourney Finals

In Golden on a cold Friday night, the No. 2 ranked Colorado School of Mines women’s soccer team kept their outstanding season going with a 1-0 semifinal win against Regis in the RMAC tournament. The women moved to 18-0-1 on the season and recorded their fourteenth shutout of the year advancing to the finals of the RMAC tourney as they look to claim their third consecutive RMAC tournament title on Sunday.

Cross Country Races to Nationals in Canyon, Texas

The Colorado School of Mines men’s and women’s cross country teams headed down to Canyon, Texas for the South Central Regional Championships and turned in spectacular results. The fifth ranked men’s team finished third out of 21 teams, losing only to No. 2 Adams State, and No. 1 Western State. The women’s team finished seventh out of 22 teams. Junior Derek Alcorn and Senior Andrew Epperson finished fifth and sixth overall respectively with times of 30:24 and 30:26 at the 10k distance.
