Colorado School of Mines is currently home to some pretty heroic people. We at The Oredigger figured it was high time to give some well deserved shout outs to the heroic people who have kept Mines going this past year and a half. So, without further ado, here we go!

The Mines Custodial Team: If you’ve been in a campus building at all during the past twoish years, you’ve seen the work of the Mines custodial team. The custodial team has gone above and beyond their normal duties to ensure that Mines is clean and safe for everyone. If you live in a dorm, you’ve definitely noticed the lengths the custodial team goes to help keep everyone in person and on campus. The importance of their job can not be overstated and they’re efforts have been more heroic than is capable of being described. If you see them in the hallways and classrooms, be sure to give them a big thank you!

The Mines CRIT Team: The Mines CRIT (COVID-19 Response Initiator Team) team has done an incredible job monitoring COVID-19 cases and protocols across campus. CRIT has worked closely with Jefferson County public health to keep track of campus COVID cases, as well initiate contact tracing when deemed necessary. The team has been hard at work ever since March 2020 and their efforts are without a doubt very heroic. One of CRIT’s goals is to keep Mines open for in person classes and events and it has become clear that CRIT is achieving its goals. Thank you for all you do CRIT!

Mines Professors: Colorado School of Mines is definitely an experience that is meant to be in person, but when Mines was forced to go online in March of 2020 one group of people stepped up to ensure that the student population still had the best Mines experience possible: the professors. Mines’ impressive array of professors have made a heroic effort to ensure everyone gets the instruction they deserve. Transferring classes that were designed to be hands on and in person to an exclusively online format is a unique challenge and the Mines professors did it eloquently. To further prove their heroic achievements, our professors have continued to make sure they’re ready to transition at a moments notice, as well as make arrangements to make sure sick and quarinted students still have access to their classes. Way to go and thank you to the Mines professors!

… and You!!!
