Three people have been transported to the hospital following a shooting at the Strozier Library on Florida State University’s campus. The shooter was a 2005 graduate at Florida State University. At 12:30 am November 20, FSU officers told the shooter to drop his weapon. He fired a shot and campus police shot back, killing him. The shooting of three students occurred earlier due to the fact that the library is open 24 hours, 7 days a week. One of the students who got shot in the leg reported that the shooter just fired a few shots in the library and then left quickly. Tallahassee Police Department Chief Michael DeLeo said the shooter had mental problems and had written journals and videos where he expressed concern about “being targeted” by the government.

US Cyber Command reported that China has the ability to cyber-attack the US power grid and has the capacity to shut down the nation’s power grid and other crucial infrastructure. Admiral Michael Rogers, head of US Cyber Command, says, “We see them attempting to steal information on how our systems are configured: the very schematics of most of our control systems down to engineering level of detail so they can look at where are the vulnerabilities, how are they constructed, and how [one] could get in and defeat them.” In addition to the threats from China, Admiral Rogers said there are already groups within the US who want to cause major damage to corporate and other critical sectors of the American economy.

ISIS has officially taken over Derna, Libya, a city on the Mediterranean coast with a population of about 100,000. The fighters took advantage of political chaos to rapidly expand their presence westwards along the coast, according to CNN. The Derna branch of ISIS has about 800 fighters. According to CNN, most of the local population in Derna is opposed to the takeover by the Islamic State, but due to the absence of the central government, they are not in a position to do much.
