Golden Farmer’s Market

There is an event in the parking lot of the Golden Library that may rival the joys of sleeping in on Saturday mornings.

Every summer Saturday for the past 12 years, the Golden Farmer’s Market has been delivering local goods and eats to the Golden community. The market has many options and multiple visits are required to appreciate the atmosphere of the entire event.

Visitors can enjoy fresh vegetables, fruits, meats, granola, and everything in between. One of the best deals is a $10 “Fill a bag” offer from Miller Farms. They offer farm fresh peppers, cucumbers, lettuce, kale, onions, and more. Feeling a bit carnivorous? Sunrise Ranch features savory beef and buffalo steaks. Even the sweet tooths can be satiated at the many bakery stands, smoothie booths, and pie vendors. Many gluten-free options are now available.

Sampling is a great part of the Golden Farmer’s Market. Most booths offer some option of sampling, such as the No Double Dipping booth. The booth features dozens of gourmet dipping varieties and a myriad of interesting and fun flavors to choose from. Perhaps one of the most intriguing sampling sessions comes from the Golden Moon Distillery. The Golden Moon offers hand-crafted artisanal spirits distilled right here in Golden. Samplers must be 21 to enjoy the flavorful experience each spirit delivers.

For a range of preferences, there is truly something everyone can enjoy at the Golden Farmer’s Market. The prices and flavors are unbeatable, and the fact that all these products come locally to the city of Golden is extremely fulfilling and enjoyable. Although the market is nearing the end of the summer cycle, students and faculty can enjoy the event four more times until October 4th. Mark the calendar and set the alarm to savor the flavor and fun at the Golden Farmer’s Market! Vistit goldenfarmersmarket.org for more information.
