The legendary bagel bite is back. While bite sized snacks were great for the younger days, most students need a little more sustenance than what frozen bagel bites can provide. Full-sized pizza bagels are a great way to utilize day-old bagels, and they provide all of the enjoyment of the frozen minis without all of the preservatives.
*Three savory bagels
*One half cup pizza sauce
*One cup mozzarella cheese, grated
*Pizza toppings as desired
Slice the bagels in half and place the halves cut side up on a baking sheet. Spread the sauce evenly over the bagel halves using a spoon, then cover with the grated cheese being careful not to let any drop through the holes. Add any toppings at this point. Suggested toppings include pepperoni, bell pepper, green onions, and bacon bits. Place the bagels in a 350 degree Fahrenheit oven and cook for 15 minutes, or until the cheese bubbles and begins to brown. Remove the bagels from the oven and let cool before serving. Cut the bagels into quarters to make bite-sized pieces, or eat whole like a traditional pizza.
