Recently opened in downtown Golden, Toned Bones offers American-style food with local owners serving dishes such as wraps, burgers, steaks, and seafood. There are plans to add a breakfast and dessert menu and extended restaurant hours beginning at 7 am. The restaurant is currently open from 11 am to 9 pm from Sunday through Thursday and open 11 am to 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
While the restaurant’s name suggests healthier fare, it does not consider itself a health foods shop. Toned Bones offers standard American food, while taking additional measures to make each dish as healthy as possible. They accomplish this by maintaining flavor and using creative cooking techniques, as well as “smarter” ingredients such as olive-oil mayo and organic vegetables. As their website states, “We believe meals should encourage wellness while still tasting great. Eating out should never be a war for the waistline, but rather a chance to energize your body for the day ahead.”.Toned Bones also takes this approach to the environment and only uses recyclable or reusable packaging and low energy lighting.
Toned Bones offers specials to Mines students and faculty with weekly offerings that are available every Tuesday available through their Twitter page, @tonedbones. Between these specials, free wi-fi, incredible food, and its modern and upscale interior, Toned Bones creates an atmosphere where students can relax, eat, and perhaps even complete some homework. Anyone who enjoys eating great tasting food and not having to worry about it hurting their health or wallet should stop stop by and try their delicious offerings.
