Mines Little Theater Begins Performances of Young Frankenstein

After months of preparation, the Mines Little Theater has finally begun performances for its latest endeavor, Young Frankenstein.  MLT has been working diligently since early January to prepare a visual, musical, and comedic masterpiece for the college audience.

This is the first time the theater company has performed its shows in Bunker Auditorium, and this particular production fits the grand stage well.  Beautiful hand-built sets framed by red velvet curtains provide the perfect setting for MLT’s very talented cast.

Young Frankenstein (read: Frahnk-en-steen) is a musical based on the 1974 Mel Brooks film of the same name.  It follows Victor Frankenstein’s descendant, Frederick, as he claims his family heritage after being summoned to his late grandfather’s mansion in Transylvania.  He is convinced to “join the family business” and bring a monster to life, just as many in his family did before.  The show features amazing voices and experienced actors dancing and bringing the story to life in more ways than one.

Young Frankenstein is directed by Rory Pierce of Miner’s Alley Playhouse, and opened on April 15.  The other performances are as follows:

April 16th, 2016 @ 7:00 pm

April 22nd, 2016 @ 7:00 pm

April 23rd, 2016 @ 2:00p and 7:00 pm

Be sure to buy tickets and support MLT.  Tickets are $7.00 for students and $12.00 for non-students.

In addition, on the weekend of the 22nd of April, Bunker Auditorium’s lobby will play host to student artwork, including some of the sets created for Young Frankenstein.  Come see the creative side of Mines’ engineering students at its finest.
