Lt. Gov. Candidate Joe Garcia to speak with Mines students

Lieutenant Governor Candidate Joe Garcia will visit Colorado School of Mines on Friday, October 15 for an exclusive question-answer session with students. Mr. Garcia will focus on the important challenges ahead for Colorado’s higher education system.

Hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be provided for all in attendance. The seminar will begin promptly at 2 PM in Ballroom A of the Ben Parker Student Center, with a few minutes of prepared remarks followed by an open question-answer dialogue with participants.

Higher education funding has been a source of controversy in Colorado for some time, and many Mines students are aware of the looming fiscal challenges for both the state and school. Mr. Garcia is the former President of CSU-Pueblo and holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

The CSM Graduate Student Association is facilitating this discussion, but does not endorse the opinions expressed by the Hickenlooper-Garcia campaign.
